Agricultural & Residential Roads

Eliminating dust and keeping pot holes and washboarding under control will go a long way toward helping you enjoy your property. There are several factors involved in getting a smooth, clean road.

Most dirt roads have a gravel base. Over time, road gravel is ground into smaller and smaller particles by vehicle tires until the particles are small enough to penetrate the lungs. Our goal is to increase the load baring ability and elasticity of the road surface until the deterioration of the gravel is radically reduced.

The first thing to assess is how much work is needed to rehabilitate the road. If the road is smooth then all that needs to be done is scarify the road to a depth of three inches to allow the Soil Sement to soak when it is placed on the road. This is followed up by compacting and binding the product with a vibratory roller and the job is done.

If the road suffers from deferred maintenance, then you may wish to scarify, grade and crown the road, as well as add road base. This removes washboarding and pot holes. Deep stabilization requires a road to be bladed and shaped. We have the equipment to complete these improvements and welcome the business. An accurate estimate would require a visit to the property to look at the type of soil and measure the surface area.

The primary thing about Soil Sement, the product we use to bind the gravel together to defeat dust, is that the product is cumulative. That means the more that you put on, the more it binds the road base together and thereby controls dust and erosion. This keeps the road smooth without having to add base and reduces the frequency of grading which saves you money.

Ideal road preparation calls for laying in base, ripping, grading and going over the road with a vibratory roller.
